Our advocacy and research in the cosmetic surgery and injectables space continues to be wide-reaching. There were numerous topics we wanted to explore further, and importantly we wanted to provide a balance to the positive spin patients are fed by the industry. Instagram, TikTok, various lifestyle websites and magazines are all filled with positive messaging around cosmetic procedures. The purported benefits of these procedures are overstated and glamourised, while promising life-changing results. The truth is, these procedures can be life-changing, but not in the way they are selling it. We wanted to do something about it. As researchers who have helped expose some of the most prominent business scandals in Australia, we are continuing our research into the cosmetic surgery and injectables space.
